Just back from crewe flea market and two scratchy records in my sweaty hands. The Indian film "Purab Aur Pachhim"(East & West) 1970 on the Odeon label is a classic piece of Bollywood with a wonderful song called Twinkle Twinkle Little Star which I have put in the files of the Boot Sale Sounds yahoo group. It's one of the oddest songs I've heard for a long time. Just found the poster in Dogpile which is even more bizarre with the twin towers in the background! Also got a Kanda Bongo Man comp. on Globe Style. Hazel found a thermometer for her growing thermometer collection. It has a nice metal case shaped like a cruise missile.
Popped round to see Tony and saw the new DVD single of the Fat Cats which was great (see the website in links where you can download it).

OOooh man! Indian movies...love, love, love 'em. We have several, but this one looks great. Actually went to Bollywood show and saw them painting a huge poster that they use for ads. Neat watching. You hit the jackpot there, Michael. And hear music finds too. I'll hear them sooner or later. Lots happening in your site! Take care, you & yours.
I used to find lots of old indian film soundtracks from the 60's and 70's down Brick lane market ( a big immigrant community) when we lived in London. Havent really seen many of the films themselves. Sometimes they show them late at night on tv here. Will try and get some more uploaded to the Boot Sale Sounds group and hopefully you'll be able to hear them at some point Syl!
That's a deal!!!
Hip Hip!!! Thanks to Floss I have now experienced "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (with Jack & Jill too)"!!! Has to be the funniest most unusual version ever made...and you found it for us. Thanx, Michael...was bangin on the bongo fun!
Tonto has borrowred my originial blog...if the Lone Ranger makes him return it, then sorry for the echo...sorry for the echo. Wanted to tell you I finally got to hear, thanks to Floss, "Twinkle, twinkle little star (along with Jack & Jill)! Just great listening and one of the funniest versions I have every heard!!! Thank you Michael!
Great! glad you were able to hear that amazing Twinkle twinkle track. Tim drage likes it too. making some converts! I put a few indian tracks onto disc today. had fun sorting through a big pile of old Ska singles too so maybe a couple of them aired on the Boot sale Sounds group.
We had a scratchy record once... gave it back to the pound and asked for another species. Said a dog or cat would do nicely. What do you feed a CD any how'zZ?
(Pay no attention to the above post. Ed Giecek is just testing out this blogger thingy mabob.)
