Carey Park Blackberries
Early morning walk to Carey Park. Sunshine and showers. Hazel spotted some ripe blackberries. Back via Argos for some sturdy metal shelving to accomodate the mail art archive when we eventually get it back. Argos very organised thankfully although those touch screens are a bit annoying.

Birthday and Anniversary
Some new additions to the balloon pump collection from Archie. Hazel's birthday surprises were many this morning. Lots of cards and presents to open. Poor Hazel has awoken with a bad back though and she's smiling despite that and the rainy weather. It doesnt take much to cheer her up - some 3-D printed "glow-in-the-dark" bread tags from her son - the balloon pumps - the Liver Of Sulpher and other silver making stuff. A book by the author of The Mezzonine. Badges from Mark Pawson aquired with a torn cheque. A trolley load of plants yesterday from the Garden Centre in Marbury. Her cup runneth over! It was Audrey's birthday yesterday too so we went over to blow bubbles and stick balloons to her front door. Swapped presents and had a nice chat. Thankfully the weather was better than today. Peeing down outside now!

Walk to Carey Park.
Nice walk around Carey Park despite drizzle and attentions of some yappy dogs just after this photo was taken. The dog owner offered to take our portrait on the bench for us but we declined. We really didn't want her germs all over my camera and we wanted her to drag her bouncy yappy dogs away from us! One got mud on hazel's knees - she wasn't happy. Then on to town for some shopping - posting some mail and more walking. And sitting - as Hazel does all the shopping and I people watch outside on a handy bench under a shadey tree umbrella. Always amazed at how few people still not wearing masks when they go into shops despite the obvious advantages. Some had chin hammocks and others seemed to be using them as eye shades? Then over to Hazel's Mom and sisters place to swap groceries and have a chat in the continuing drizzle.

River Dane and Fishing Pond
Here comes the sun - doobi-doobum! Nice early walk to the fishing ponds and the secret orchard to scrump the last of the blackcurrants. All the red currants had gone as had the raspberries. A lone heron swooped over the fishing pond and couple of noisy seagulls squawked as they settled in the sparkling waters. No fish to be seen but lots of butterflies and dragonflies etc. Then through the track to the cornfield to see how that was doing. Up to my shoulder now and soon to be as big as me! Up the hilly lane to admire peoples front gardens. Very quiet despite the sunshine and just a couple of dog walkers to nod to as we wended or way home.

River Weaver Walk
Early morning walk to Carey Park and along by the River Weaver. Found a squashed animal - not sure what it was? Sun came out so felt quite hot in coat. After yesterday I wasn't taking any chances! Then into town to do some shopping - mostly for Granma and Audrey. Hazel braved Iceland which she said was horrendous - no social distancing going on or cleaning of trolleys - no hand gel or cleaning materials available! Then over to G and A's to drop off the groceries and a quick chat in their front garden.

Socially Distanced Chat & Gardening
Pleasant morning over at Hazel's Mom's and sisters place doing a bit of socially distanced chat with Hazel's train buddy Carol in the back garden whilst Hazel did some gardening. The sun was out too which made a nice change!Look at those wispy clouds!

Canal Walk
Early morning walk to the canal via the local park which has a bench refurbished by some keen DIY enthusiasts! Probably the same duo who did the rustic plaque in honour of their sadly demised chum Ron. One has to admire their community spirit ! Saw a heron wading through the reeds - he took flight as we crept up to take a rather poor photo. This camera is handy for snaps but not ideal for anything more demanding. It is light and does fit into my pocket so that was my main reason for buying it. The thistles are looking particularly fetching at the moment, as are all the wild flowers nearby. Home via the Co-op. Hazel popped in for some heavy stuff - soya milk, tins of tuna, etc.

Marbury Garden Centre
Nice walk over Marbury way. A bit nippy but the rain kept off. Found a communal orchard. Hazel got some plants from the garden centre which was empty. Then to Granma and Audrey's to collect bread and milk and give them some plants. Had a quick chat before the drizzle set in. Said hello to Bob from the boot sales who was visiting a sick friend nearby.
