Carey Park Walk - Blackberries

This mornings walk to the River Weaver and around Carey Park in the sunshine. Chatted to a friendly lady with her new fostered hairy dachshund. Picked a few blackberries that were abundent. A couple nearby had the same ide and hadfilled two tuppaware boxes full - they must be making jam! We suggested a pair of step ladders would be a good idea as all the larger fruit were at the top of the brambles. Did a circuit of the park nearest the river and then back to the car and off to Lostock to help Granma with some hoovering etc. Too hot for that really. Phew!

Walk To Woods - Old Warrington Road

Sunny walk to Old Warrington Road end of the Carey Park and Flashes etc. Listening to the buzzing bees and the chirpings of birds - even a cuckoo clearly in the distance. Sat on a bench to have a rest and soak up some sun. Lots of dog walkers about with various shaped dogs. Hazel prefers the smaller ones that are not so boistrous.

This mornings wander down to the River Weaver. Our favourite bench had some hair hanging in a tree nearby. Not sure if it was a wig or whatnot? Went round the shops. Got some whiteout and new pens. Nothing from charity shops.

Pleasant wander around Carey Park this morning and sat looking at the ducks coming in to land on the flashes. Walked into town to do some shopping at Poundstretcher's 50% off sale. Hazel found a few bulbs, seeds and household items.

River Weaver and Carey Park

Pleasant walk to our favourite bench by the river after some shopping this morning. Quite mild still for October - the sun was trying to poke it's nose through the clouds but failed miserably. A vee shaped squadron of honking geese flew over. Still a few blackberries to be had but our fridge is full of the ones we picked last month.

Walk In Carey Park

 A shopping trip into town to get a few bits. popped in charity shop for 3 DVD's for a quid including Somewhere ( Coppala )  The Sting and Meeks Cut Off.  Hazel went in QS and Poundstretcher.  Most of the charity shops were still closed. Went to post office to post mail to Leslie Caldera.  Nice Indian lady behind the counter admired my envelope and wondered where my wife was. I told her she was shopping at the other end of town.  She gave me a lovely smile.  Afterwards we went for walk to Carey Park and sat by the river. Got a few more blackberries.

 This mornings walk around town to do some shopping and then to Carey Park to pick some blackberries. Picked so many we had to give half to Hazel's Mom and sister . They tried to give us a tiny portion of rhubarb but we declined.

Carey Park Walk

 Nice walk around Carey Park this morning after doing a little early shopping to avoid crowds in B&M and Quick Save.  Got some cheap headphones for Hazel to wrap up for my birthday tomorrow.  Looked in QS for present ideas but mostly cheap junk so didn't bother.  Two narrow boats were side by side on the River Weaver. One man was shouting over to the other boat. It sounded like he was saying "I'll swap this dirty yellow bandage for your wife!"  I'm sure that can't be right!

Neumann's Flashes

 This mornings walk to Neumann's Flashes and Carey Park after a shoppig trip to the B&M store in town. Very sunny but cooler than yesterday, 4th June 2021.

Carey Park

 Another early morning walk to town and then Carey Park and the River Weaver.  Surprisingly quiet with just a few walkers and joggers. Most people seem to exercise by walking round Tescos or Asda!

Carey Park Ramble

 This mornings wander round Carey Park. A bit muddy after all the rain. Flocks of midges anticipating the sun coming out. A crow in a tree. Catkins. Blossom in the hedgerows. Percy Edwards hiding somewhere doing all the bird noises. 24th March 2021.

Tuckit Bags

 

Off to the park today in the old donkey cart. The road was strewn with orange. I wish I'd taken my hasselblad - such was the autumnal glory that we beholdeth. Dazzling hues of all hueness. The trip trappy bridge is always fun especially if a loaded dung cart is coming the other way but we were spared the scrape and spark of the hooves this time.

The journey takes just 40 minutes around the back of beyond, past the nether fizzles and then further along the byways and leafy hue ways.

The town was in low swing and we swung into action with our gander bags. Bulged they did with odd curiosments and gew-gaws. I found a tin lizard pranger and a half boiled rangle-swuppit. Hoozle got a few ancient cards of poppits and poke-its. elbows a kimbo we spent a good hour hear until the call of nature and skip hoppy to the septic urals.

Then the charshops and more delights of the mouldering kind. Pac pins and seedy sleeves.

Tummy rumolds so home for tiffin and more jumbucks in our tuckit bags.  I must go and have a lie down now in a darkly room.

Walk Round Carey Park

Early morning walk aroud Carey Park which was quite busy. Hazel found some more blackberries ripe enough for a crumble! 19th August 2020.

Carey Park Blackberries

Early morning walk in the drizzle round Carey Park. Hazel picked some ripe blackberries. Seems to be a glut of them at the moment. Looks like apple,pear and blackberry crumble in the offing. Then to Granma and Audrey's to drop stuff off that they ordered. I stayed in the car as the rain got heavier.
