Walk Behind The Tip

Nice walk behind the tip down the Old Warrington Road. Lots of runners but we managed to avoid them. Saw some fun guys. Lots of dogs. Trod in some poop. Duh! Afterwards went to tip to dump some garden waste and an old printer. Exciting eh?

Walk Down Warrington Road

This mornings walk down the Old Warrington Road after going round the town. Posted some mail. Checked out the charity shops - zilch! Not a sausage. Hazel got some aubergine pickle from the asian shop - yum! Cushions and nibbles etc. Lots of bees and other flying things. Nice to be cooler. Heat is not for us. Come lovely drizzle and try and spoil our day - its not possible!

Old Warrington Road

Nice walk after dumping stuff at the local tip. Amused by the tip feller's Halloween display of ghouls and skeletons! Nice to get rid of all the garden rubbish and stuff from Dave's house. We felt a lot lighter! The woods looked wonderful in their autumnal foliage. A few squirrels being frisky among the fallen leaves. Lots of dog walkers and their crazy hounds.

Early Morning Walk - October 3rd. 2024.

This mornings early walk down the Old Warrington Road after dropping off Archie and Meriel at the station. ( Off to Manchester and Marsden ) Saw some daft dogs and a dead rabbit and dead vole. A friendly twitcher daggling with clickers and cameras was recording the Cettis Warbler over by the Flashes. A rarity it seems. He was counting all the wood pigeons ( over 2,000 ) . Geese flying overhead honking away. Sunny for a change.

Walk To Old Warrington Road

Nice wander round the back of the local tip ( as we like to call it!) The Old Warrington Road is blocked to regular traffic - lots of walkers and dogs etc. A bit muddy so we stayed on the roadway and marveled at the green moss that looked very bright despite the grey and misty weather. Good to stretch our legs (Boinnng!) and breathe some fresh air.

Walk to The Woods

Shopping in town then a walk behind the tip down Old Warrington Road. Very Autumnal scenes in the woods and fields. A bit grey but not raining as yet. Storm Celiac still down South.

Walk To Old Warrington Road.

After some shopping in town we went for a wander round the woods down the Old Warrington Road behind the council tip. Lots of sweaty bedraggled runners were returning from a circuit via Carey Park. Also lots of dog walkers. We spotted some slugs and some blue flowers. Pointed at some berries and leaves falling. Autumnal nip in the air.

Walk To Woods - Old Warrington Road

Sunny walk to Old Warrington Road end of the Carey Park and Flashes etc. Listening to the buzzing bees and the chirpings of birds - even a cuckoo clearly in the distance. Sat on a bench to have a rest and soak up some sun. Lots of dog walkers about with various shaped dogs. Hazel prefers the smaller ones that are not so boistrous.

Old Warrington Road Woods

Nice walk through the Autumnal woods down the Old Warrington Road. Very mild fro the time of year - I had to take my jumper and scarf off! There wasa sign that said "Walk This Way" which we had fun with. Very leafy and colourful - all yellows and browns. A few dog walkers but not terribly busy. We are lucky to have such lovely walks close at hand.

Old Warrington Road - Bluebell Woods

After some shopping this morning it was a short drive to the Old Warringtom Road and the rivver walk to the bluebell woods. Hazel picked some daisies for her "Daisy Clamps" or whatever they turn out to be. She's scared they might be too whimsical. No more whimsical than belly button fluff tweezers or currant drying sheds! Hada nice sit on a bench looking at the clouds and listening to a nearby cuckoo. Some cheeky dogs came by for a sniff. Then over to Lostock to deliver some groceries and have a chat in the front garden.

Bluebells and Dandelions

Nice sunny walk this morning to see the bluebells at Wincham Mill Woods and along the Old Warrington Road. Also some dandelions from yesterdays walk in our local park. Always a treat to see so many types of plants and flowers blooming at this time of year. Our daily walks have kept us sane these last couple of years of lockdowns and restrictions.
