Latest text from Archie says he's on English soil now and soon to be arriving in Eurostar terminus in Kent and getting back on coach. Should be home by teatime. He cheekily added " Is it true that bird flu has arrived in France? Atishoo!" So he's in good spirits obviously if he's able to crack jokes.
Went into town with Hazel this morning to get some shopping. Found some old Alfred Hitchcock films on DVD in the cheapo bookshop sale. Four DVD's for £3.

Hurrah - Archie's back. I expect you'll be posting the odd photo or twenty of him having a fab time. Maybe you could put a couple of his worried parents up.
While you were missing Archie we were sitting in a wet field in Devon - they tricked us into believing it was Dorset - and being towed by tractors. I'm hoping to put our adventures on the blog soon.
Well, it's good to be back. The the kid a hug from us.
That should have said Give the kid a hug...
BTW Joe lent us Ghostworld - haven't watched it yet. The comic is excellent.
Also planning to watch another Joe recommended film - The Life Aquatic.
Yes, tearful reunions ( Hazel mostly) at the school when the coach turned up. It was lovely to see him again. He looked thinner and taller! Amazing what your brain can do in a week. He's been full of his adventures and it seems he's keen to go back next year so it cant have been that bad! One of the teachers was a bit of a pain but all the rest were nice he says. The PE teacher who regarded Archie as a bit of a Dweeb before now accepts him as a sporty boy after coming 6th in the ski trials at the end of the week. he even got a medal and a stifficate. He only managed one roll of film as it was difficult to work the camera with gloves on he said, but look forward to those in due course.
Hes' had a some home cooking and gone for a bath and an early night hopefully as he only managed three hours on the coach by the sound of it.
HEs back and I couldn't stop smiling.....even with the hugest bag of smelly stale washing you could imagine....imagine sticky socks....now times it by 10...and remember they have been in the hold of a coach in a plastic bag for HOURS....JOY
His knee is a bit sore and he aches and has nasty blisters on his ankles..and he still wants to go again.
what this about you in a damp field and tractor Rogers!!?
Welcome home, Archie...
You must be back into the rhythm by now. Sounds like you had a good time...
