Nice picnic with old chums Stella and Brian. Walk afterwards around the lake and to bird hide - lots of ducks! Then to the garden centre to buy some geranniums and pinks.

Looking For Froglets
Tone and Pene came over for an indoor picnic yesterday. We did intend to go to Marbury and have an outdoor picnic but the weather took a turn for the worse and so we decided to stay indoors. They brought sandwiches and we had toasted sandwiches in the air fryer which worked quite well considering it was the first time we tried it. Tone and Pene might get one too now after tasting the results! Also had a few nibbles and salad etc. Went for a walk afterwards as the weather brightened up. Looked for the froglets again on decided we didn't want to squash any as they were so hard to see in the long grass and gravel paths of the fishy pond and community orchard area. We had fun spotting them but not able to see the ducklings or baby coots or swans.

Marbury Walk/ Picnic
Pleasant walk in Marbury Woods and along canal, garden centre etc. with old chums Stella and Brian. Nice picnic in their motor home in the car park. Weather was OK - not too cold. Lots of soggy leaves to walk through. Back to ours of dinner and more cake. Yum!

Marbury
Pleasant morning in the sunshine with old chums Tone and Pene in Marbury having a walk in the woods and a picnic. Went round the garden centre to get some plants for Mother's Day. Back to ours for tea and cake. Yum!

Marbury Picnic
Pleasant wander around Marbury with old chums Tone and Pene. Had a picnic next to an old wonky piano in the sheltered picnic area. Maybe we should have moved because children started to whack the keys in a most unmusical manner! Imagine John Cage crossed with that Northern comedian with the rubber face? Anyway, we stayed and consumed our sandwiches and crisps. Later popped back to our back garden for tea and biscuits ( the birthday cake now all gone!) .

Marbury Picnic
Nice afternoon wander around Marbury Woods and along the lake edge. The sun tried to emerge from the clouds and it wasa bit nippy but still great to catch up with the Eves and have a picnic under the drafty canopy in the picnic area. Also went round the garden centre to get a few early bedding plants. Then home for tea and posh chocolates. It was fun trying to guess the flavours. Wasabi? Bath salts? Earl grey?

Picnic By The River Dane
Sadly our old chums Tone and Pene couldn't navigate their way for some reason and went back home again. So our picnic - already packed - was taken down to the Community Orchard by the River Dane and the fishing ponds. Nice to see all the little coots and ducklings thriving. The sun came out too so felt very hot in my jumper and raincoat! 19th May 2022.

River Dane and Marbury
A busy few days with our boy - off to Granma's yesterday for fish and chips in the back garden. Hazel's birthday treat. Previously a walk to the community orchard and the River Dane. Today an abortive trip to Altringham to drop off Archie's work for the AIR gallery. Got a bit lost around Lymm and Little Legh. Hazel hates the big confusing roundabouts so tried to avoid them but ended up getting lost. the sat nav was no help - trying to stear us back to the big trunk roads. O well, looks like Archie will have to get the train after all. This afternoon sheltering from the rain and thunderstorms in Marbury Park's covered picnic area. Met up with old chums Tony and Pene for a sandwich and a chat whilst the heavens opened and the thunder rumbled!
