First Indoor Boot of the Year

First indoor boot sale of the year at Memorial court this morning. A few bargains including Dusty Bin money box with attaching nose, ears, hands, feet etc. An ancient and battered Hoopla game, plastic car kits, tons of postcards and a tin of metal gizmos. Then to Lidl to get some bits and bobs. Made some vege soup for lunch and had pretzels to dip in it. Yum!

Indoor Boot Sale

Nice wander round the indoor boot at Memorial Court this morning. Got a few bargains including an old Radio Fun annual to cut up, cigarette cards, card game, candles, postcard, slides etc. Mostly it was Xmassy stuff - old plastic toys etc. Hazel's eeye is improveing after a worrying time - rushing from one hospital to another to get laser treatment for a detached retina. Amazingly quick prodedure. 30 minutes and we were phoning for a taxi back home. Nice Moldovian taxi driver was very chatty. That's the 5th time we have been to either A&E or outpatients this year so hopefully not going again for a while! The NHS are wonderful despite all the cut backs. Vote Labour and save it!

Memorial Court Indoor Boot

Clocks went back so confused about what time to get up and what day it was ! This happens every year about this time. managed to get to indoor boot just after it opened so plenty of bargains to be had. Hazel got loads including a button box, tins of tools and gadgets, sewing paraphenalia, bottles from a old bathroom, toffee tin, pin box, old wooden rulers, rugg making stuff, etc etc. the list goes on! I was given a free digital camera as it has no leads or charger to go with it. It's a Kodak EasyShare C763 in case anyone has spare leads they don't want.

Boot Sale Time

Slim picking's at the indoor boot sale at Memorial Court this morning. Lots of my favourite sellers weren't there sadly so didn't get anything. Hazel found a few bits and bobs including a small trug, some hessian for rag rug making, custard glass, Dinky ice cream van, etc etc.

North West Phillumenists

Nice wander round the artisan market and then onto the North West Phillumenists meet up at the Memorial Court ( on until 4 I think ). Excellent displays of cigarette and matchbox related ephemera and some going for very cheap prices. Hazel even got a nice book given to her for nothing! Bought tons of labels for our collection and few boxes of matches too. Very friendly folk all willing to chat about their intriguing hobby. Could have spent longer there and bought more stuff but an hour seemed long enough and we had plenty to sort through when we got home
