Curios Thing #40

Latest CT zine which coincidentally is the 40th issue and this one was a collabortaion with my dear wife. We have been together 40 years in a few weeks time so timely in so many ways. Reminds us of our collaborations when we first met all those years ago. We shared a love of postal ephemera, rubber stamps, decorated envelopes etc. and so after corresponding for 6 months or so we finally met and the rest, as they say, is history.

Some sketchbook pages drawn in pen and one collage - inspired by various books like the Trademarks of the 30's and 40's that's been very inspirational just lately. Some hand craved rubber stamps might result from these - who knows? Meanwhile, in the real world, more depressing news of dear friends departed and families torn apart by war. I've stopped watching the news as it's been a bit too much. Please be kind to one another out there.

Miniatures 2020

 Good to see this project grow from small beginnings to become the wonderful thing it is now - a double CD set with a 68 page booklet sprinkled liberally with my collages!   Hazel has even got a track on it!   here we are rubbing shoulders with the likes of  Billy Bragg,  Toyah, Wavis O'Shave, The Ukulele Orchestra of GB,  Alternative TV, Peter Blegvad and many more .  124 tracks in all.  Read more about it HERE.

Collage & Curiosity Exhibition

Coming soon to the Weaver Hall Museum in Northwich if you are ever passing through during the next three months. Collage work by Charlie Holt ( pictured ) and metalwork/ inventions by Hazel Jones. Also collages on the theme of "museums and collecting" by yours truly. Putting it up next week. Should be fun!

Give Peas A Chance

First collage from the great book of old TV ads I found in Chester recently. Added to new theme at Scrapiteria.
Yesterday , another wander around town and the charity shops. They must be sick of seeing me in there by now but I am drawn like a fly to muck. In the libray sale got 4 DVD set of Live Aid so can enjoy again Status Quo, Queen, Dylan, etc. in all their hirsute glory. Also CD's by the Maccabees and Dave Edmunds. 50p each! I ventured into the new Pound Planet shop where the old Tai Craft Shop used to be but it was pretty dull. I wouldn't pay 10p for most of it! Good to see a couple of new shops in town though after so many bit the dust over the last few years - including a Sue Ryder. O well, better than nothing.

Saw a man driving his tiny tot in a remote controlled car in town - he was walking behind and stearing with a hand held controller thingy. The 2 year old sat motionless with his hands by his sides as it whirred along.
