Procrastination

Proscrastination

Before I get down to some work
I'll just make a cup of tea
Maybe sort out that sock drawer
And see what's on TV

Plenty to do today
But time for a short stroll
To get the papers
And a bag of crusty rolls

I sit down at my desk
Scratch my head and wonder
Whats on the radio?
Is that the sound of thunder?

Better get the washing in
Before the rain gets quicker
Is that the post man at the door?
Maybe there's a letter

Before I get down to some work
I'll have another cup of tea
The sun's come out!
O dear, it's half past three!

Ha, you've just described most of my days! Really, time flies. Is it because we do what we love instead of a 9 to 5 job? I remember the clock going in slow motion when I worked at the museum.

I expect so Angelica. When I was working at the health food shop the hours really dragged by.
This poem was inspired by a nice little animation I saw last night on TV about Procrastination by a student at the RCA animation department.

A link to that animation HERE.

Nice poem Michael. Sums it all up really. Where does the time go on certain days?
Good animation, there's a lot of interesting stuff on that BBC site.

Thanks Ron. Yes, lookslike a good site to put in the bookmarks for further investigation.
