Archie's Birthday

Quite a busy day today what with it being Archie's 15th birdbath and all. He opened some cards before he left for school but saved most of his presents until later.
We had to pop down town this morning to get his cake and candles etc. Took another big bag of vids. to the charity shop. They have a lot of trouble shifting them so probably not to keen to take them these days but they put on a brave face and accepted them saying "Thankyou, lots of people are getting rid of their videos- they are copying them onto DVD now you know." Really?
Treena came round for lunch and brought back some unsold books and money from the book fair last week. We had a nice chat and Hazel showed her the URBIS installation on Second Life she and some 1st years are doing at the moment.

Later, Granma and Auntie Audrey came round for tea and cake and to sing "Happy Birthday" and fire poppers and search internet for knitting patterns,

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Archie !!!
15 is it... how time flies.
Of course, I've always thought of him as an adult... even back to our first meeting on Lambeth Walk.
I'm proud to know him and his proud parents.
Happy Birthday, Arch...

Oh, I missed Archie's 15th celebration!!! I don't want him to
grow up...he's such a beautiful lad!!!And generous too, as he showed me how he did his animations!
Well, still so much for him to see and do and experience...and I wish him all the very best...
Michael...still back problems...bejeebers, but you've had a time of it! Glad is some better anyway!
I'll be off to Georgia to see Mum soon...long way home, it is...but she called and more or less said "Get thee home!"...so, there ya go!
Hazel...know your students are inspired by YOUR creativity...I'll be over to see some of their work on IBIS too...can't wait to see it!
Has been much too long...my fault...really great to just look through your blogs and find out what is happening with each of you!
Love to each...please take care...

Its that anonymous Hazel again I bet!

Hi Sylvia, Nice to see you blogging if only in my comments! Have a nice time in Georgia. Hope all is well.

My back problems come and go- part of the joys of growing older! I'm fine at the moment despite the odd creak and groan.

Its weird wandering around URBIS as an avitar and speaking to people. Lots of weird stuff going on besides the jumping whale and the rats etc.!

Blimey. they do grow, don't they?

By the way Michael, I noticed a Big Al Davies playing with these excellent thisteltown folk http://www.myspace.com/thistletown - is he your mate? Great stuff anyway,

Roger Stevens said...

Thistletown folk are very nice. the trumpet works well.

don't think it's Big Al though - but can there really be TWO Big Als?

Wastedpapiers said...

Not sure if it's the Big Al we know or not- he does go down to Falmouth but only for holidays as far as I know. Nice band though. I've always been partial to the ISB and folk/psych thing which reminds me of my youth when I had flowers in my hair and not dandruff!

It isn't me, is there another Big Al Davies?

It's hard to believe ! Maybe he's just the Middle Sized Al Davies?
