Merry Boxing Day!

Another quiet Xmas at home very much like last years infact. I just read the blog entry to see what we did and it all sounded very firmiliar! We had our nut roast again at Granma's and Audrey's and the usual fussing in the kitchen and the heaps of food piled high on our plates. I waddled back to the armchair after the huge pile of washing up - Granma managed to use every pot and pan in the house! I dozed off whilst watching the Queens Podcast to the nation. Later we played a tortuous long game of Monopoly in which I managed to aquire three properties that hardly anybody landed on and I always seemed to be in jail or owed the tax man, never won any beauty contest prizes and paid out high rents to all the money grabbing landlords sat around the table.

Archie wanted a remore controlled helicopter and Santa managed to find him one. So far it has flown about two feet and crashed into several ornaments. At Granma's he played Silent Night punk style on his geetar and rattled several ornaments.

We plan to be more healthy today and have a walk over to Marbury. More nut roast to eat up as I made an extra large one. Delicious it was too with chestnuts and cashews etc. I should have taken a photo of it as it came out the oven , the puff pastry all golden brown and humming quietly to itself.

mmmm, your nut loaf always sounds
soooo good...bet it taste even better!
Know what you mean about too many unhealthy but yummy treats in the house. Open the fridge and something falls out every time it seems. Today I'm on "Paper Detail"...which means gather up all the left-over shards from wrapping presents...and unwrapping them. Trying to put some semblance of order to the house as their seem to be piles everywhere!!!
Cold & rainy day here but that hasn't stopped the birds from making a racket wanting more seed. Since they are the only wildlife in the city, I pay attention to them.
Enjoy your walk...and hello to all!

Hi Syl. Yes, e know what you mean about the wrapping paper and the boxes. I think hazel will be having a bonfire tomorrow with all our leftovers and litter!

We had some lovely presents and your parcel was a treat to open. Thank you so much for the treats inside especially the terrific tin robot! I will have to photo him soon and put him on my iRobot Flickr group.

We had a nice walk this afternoon despite only having a stale bagel to feed the ducks. About three thousand other poeple had the same idea and the park was quite busy! We tried out Archies new remore controlled helicopter which was fun for a while until one of the rotors snapped! Trying to find the Super Glue now but no luck so far!

HE was not so excited about the jam though!!

I love marmalade - it's true. Still no luck with the Super Glue. I bet its in the shed all hard and congealed!
I feel a bit tiddly now after some fizzy plonk we dusted off in our enormous wine celler. The nut roats tasted even better the next day. Archie is playing one of his presents on the PC - a 3-D version of Roller Coaster Tycoon. He seems to be engrossed in it so a good choice. Going to collapse on the sofa now and watch Pirates of The Carribean. Hic!

LOL, Hazel...I promise never to give YOU a jar of marmalade (will save it for the big guy collapsed on the sofa! ;-D
You will never be old...each year I keep checking & nope, still the same.
And thank you for our gifts...perfect choice.
Take care...have fun! Hi hi to Archie when he breaks from that game.

Hazel said..you are too kind Syl....but I will kid myself you are telling the truth..and not that all our eyesight is getting worse so we can't see the wrinkles.
