A Cold Collation.

It was a kind of joint Audrey and Hazel birthday lunch yesterday with a cold collation ( too hot to put the oven on) balloons, streamers, cards, presents etc. Audrey and Granma Jones came over for lunch and then watched some film whilst being filmed for Auntie Audrey in Australia. Also they had some games of Bust-A-Move on the PS2 and rode round on quad bikes.
Seemed even more humid and heavier than of late and difficult to do anything but flop. Hopefully some respite today. They have promised some thunderstorms but none so far.
This nice photo taken by Esther when she was here.

Nice pic. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZE.

Hot and humid here also. We did have a half-hearted storm yestereve and a smattering of rain - just enough for the garden to remember what it is its missing.

Overcast today - but still very warm.

And now this weeks Gardener's Question Time postponed from Tuesday when we showed the episode of The Good Life to replace Location, Location, Location - which had also been rescheduled due to last week's edition of Gardener's Question Time itself postponed from last Monday - wilting and falling down in the heat.

THANK YOU roger and Jilly for the greeting..Michael's package arrived....he tried to hide his stack of packages from me as the postman only had one card for me....why are birthdays so depressing....? I have had some lovely presents and cards from my family...but most of my friends have forgotten...in fact only one sent me a card...
not that that bothers me much..I am no good at remembering their birthdays either...
Just don't like getting older.
Off to polish my nice sparkly car with the turtle wax I was given...Blimey I am turning into my dad! pleased to be given a sponge and car shampoo. Thank god no one gave me socks.
If anyone has tried to e mail me I can't see it..the college has changed the system today and I can't get onto my e mails until I take my computer into college..could be a benefit...can't see all those bloomin' staff digests.

Thanks for the late birfday pressies and card Roger and Jilly. Now see what you've done - now Ive got to try and cheer Hazel up! Wait until she's 59 then she'll really be depressed! Was trying to think of the positive things about being 60 like free bus pass etc. but its a thin sugar coating on a very bitter pill. Birthdays should be banned after 35.
