Cut up poem made for collaged book project. Not finished like lots of my projects.
Sunday was quite busy what with Archie going to a birthday party at a friends over at a big house near the Art School. They took 10 of them to a bowling alley near Chester -very brave!
We decided to take Audrey to Lady Hayes craft centre and antique barns as it was a nice warm , sunny day.
I found some old "Happy Families" animal cards to collage into ATC's. Hazel bought two old tins - one to make into a "time capsule" to place in the gap in the brickwork before the new sills are made. Archie and I made one each too. Archies was a tin easter egg filled with all kinds of old toys, stickers and trading cards. Mine was similar but in a newish tobacco tin. It included a tape, badges, stickers, a small book and a rubber stamp.
Hazel's Mom and sister came over in the afternoon to inspect the new conservatory/workshop and bought some cakes they had made.

Like the idea of the time capsules!
Don't mention unfinished projects or I'll go back to bed and cover my head! Need to go to the nursery for new goodies for the garden, but every time I try, it decides to rain. And it seems every time I get into the mood to work on ATC's, there is an interruption. Arghhhh. Have a few days off so hopefully can regroup and retroup and redupe. Holding out til I have Archie's little surprise before I send your ATC...hope that's ok?
Take care and post more pics of your new gorgeous conservatory as you set things up!
Cheers!

Hey! The conservatory's done! Halooo!Hallay!Hip Hip Hooray!
Just the floor to do eh?
Easy peasy.
You can do it.
Go to it!

Glad you're feeling a bit better too.

Off to a rehearsal tonight. Pissing down with rain here.

We always enjoyed that bit in Amelie when she find s the tin of toys and trinkets behind the tile which starts her off on her quest to reunite them with the grown up who put them there many years ago. We've never had the chance to make time capsules before, with a hollow brick wall to fill.
The tiling is a serious job that cant be bodged and needs proper tile cutting tools which we don't have. the tiler is phoning us tonight to give us a quote. hopefully it won't be too high. Someone just sent me a set of googled links to photos of Ivor Cutler and amongst them are photos of my collages - how weird is that? It's because I have a link to his website I suppose, but so must hundreds of people.
No hurry for ther ATC Syl. I shall take some more photos of conservatory when the tiling and electrics are done. The finishing team are coming on Thursday to hopefully tidy things up and put sills and drains in etc.

I doubt if its your wife Jim unless she has a liking for antiques, candle making, pottery, rubberstamps and model aeroplanes?

So then young sir (you can see that I know my place in society)
how can I get hold of some of your excellent creations then?
hmmm?
and how much bearing in mind that I am an Essex peasant and more skint than a very skint skinflint.

Michael, Jonathan & I have just received a very fine packet from you! Circled it like a cat 'round a mouse til he got home! Thanks so much for ALL it's goodies, but especially Bjork CD! She is such a unique performer and her "One Day" music soooo wicked kool! We both thank you!
Also, Jon found a great selection of plecktums so tomorrow will get ATC's and Archies surprise (I hope!) in the post.
Best to all from us both!

Glad you got the packet o.k. Syl and Jonathan. Archie will be chuffed to get some plectrums. I'll haVE to tape him practising and upload it for you. He's improving all the time.

What sort of "creations" were you thinking of c.s.?

The builders came today instaed of thursday for some reason - even they didnt know! The sills have been done and time capsules covered despite the builder saying " I'd better take these out or they'll get covered over."
More builders came and checked out the drainage and guttering. Coming back o saturday to dig the soakaway. The tile man came to measure up and work out a quote which he will send in the post. He was a bit cagey which makes me think it will be high.

That reminds me.

Did you see the Ivor Cutler programmes? One was his last concert.

I'll try and remember to put them in the post.

So much to do so little time...

I would love to see the Ivor Cutler progs. Roger. We dont have BBc 4 alas. We need a new aerial to get freeview properly and before we get a new aerial we have to get the chimney mended and before we get the chimney mended we have to pay for the conservatory and before we pay for the coservatory they have finish off the bloggy thing!
So much to do, so little money!

Michael, reminds me that sometimes the things we treasure most are those we have waited for. Was astounded once reading Fortune mag that so many of the worlds wealthiest men had committed suicide! It will all get done when it gets done...til then treasure what you have. They are jewels.

Having posted this comment on someone else's blog site and confusing everyone including myself, here are the remarks that I thought I had left here.
Confused yet?
I am.

. . .
The wonderous collages as displayed on you 'obscure' site. Love 'em.
Ivor Cutler eh? Good old John Peel, bless 'im, used to play him a lot. I liked the sound but never got round to buying any CD's. have to set about changing that.

That's better, CJ!

It is very confusing. We are all confused- let's face it!
Life is just a series of confusions surrounded by a muddle!
