A trip to another Planet and Jodrell Bank.

The Planet was a conservatory and windows merchant over at Holmes Chapel. hazel wanted to look at a few to see what was available, sizes and prices etc. She's desperate to get a place to work. A chap is coming over next week to look at our shed we want fetching down and give us a quote for work etc.
We saw a sign for Jodrell Bank so decided to have a look at the telescope and visitors centre which was only a short drive away. Got there just as the gates were being opened!
The main visitors centre is being demolished to make way for a state of the art one in a few years. A smaller version and cafe and 3-D theatre is all that is left. It made a nice change to see the amazing structure of the telescope again and walk in the Arboeretum.
The 3-D film was very short and was about quasars and black holes and narrated by a long necked alien creature. We had to wear 3-D glasses but the effects were few and far between. Archie bought a fossiled sharks tooth in the shop and some pens and toys for Granma and Auntie Audrey.
This collage is another for the Flickr "Collage Kids" sci-fi theme. Danny Kaye looks abit like the Little Prince with his foot on that planet?

I wanted to say I liked your photo of the Strawberry field gates but everytime i try and make a comment it won't let me! So I'm making my comments here instead!
I already have the 7 blade razor on a cheap pirated import from Bulgaria. you can find them at boot sales along with pirated ironing board covers and pirated dust-o-matics.

You lucky thing. Did it come with the special pyramid packaging that keeps it sharp by aligning it with the Earth's magnetic field and the constellation of Orion?

The bulgarian 7 blade razor is unique in that it is mostly made of wood, even the blades which are sharpened by tiny east european mites called Shwabchubs, who run up and down the blades eating the microscopic sap that seeps out and wear down the cutting edge with their abrasive abdomens.

And I thought that you guys were still using clam shells to scrape off yer beards... what do you use for shaving cream???

Roger Stevens said...

Cream? You can't shave with cream - don't be silly. You put cream on cakes and jelly and strawberries.

Shaving with cream... whatever next.

Wastedpapiers said...

No not cream, but, Pontius Crinks new improved shaving balm! Made from the berries of the mysterious and highly inflammable Freeble Bush that grows in jungle clearings and swampy uplands of the Cairngorms. No need for razors even - just one match will do the trick!

Are you telling me you've found a supply of Pontius Crinks Shaving Balm. I thought the World's suppy was destroyed in the Great Fire of Tipton in 1973.

You couldn't spare a little could you?

Sorry, all known supplies exploded a few minutes ago and I need what i have left to rid myself of moles.
