An old serviettte joke is better than none.

Today we had a pleasant walk in Marbury despite the cold. Extra thick socks definately worth stuffing in yer wellies. The mad ducks, dogs and owners were out in force. The stale bread didn't last long - hoovered up by many a beak. We sat a while at the "hide' and saw a mouse or vole grab the bread and rush off into the undergrowth. Two grey squirrels nearby burying nuts in the leaves. Saw two jays and several magpies, tits, finches, etc. Lots of paths made more pronounced by gravel and asphalt. I prefer the muddy tracks but better for families with buggies & small children I suppose.

It's been cold even down here in the sunny South today.
Last night I took the geraniums and fuchsias into the greenhouse - first repairing the three broken pains of glass with some cardboard.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a frost tonight.

Sounds like quite a nice trek
to me...oh those old geese and
ducks can get aggressive-watch
the shins!!!
But watching the wildlife
store up for winter can be
interesting...birds building
their nests straw by stick by etc...
and there is this amazingly BIG
nest at work...haven't seen the
builder yet but he's building a
condo!

No, the ducks and geese were very well behaved yesterday, very noisy though!
We always enjoy our trips to Marbury. Its looking particularly beautiful now with all the leaves changing and falling - browning and keatsing.
I like the parsnips line Roger- joins up with the watercress line at manglewurzel junction? maybe this could be an ongoing blog thing? guessing the silly caption? mind you, its one I play anyway asked to or not!
